Upcoming Year 6 Events
20/05 - 24/05 Year 6 Residential
Times tables tests
We advise children to practise their times tables daily. They will be tested every Monday and will assess their speed and accuracy when answering questions. Children can also access online activities on Education City. Please see Miss Bolton if you do not have the login details.
Spelling test
Every Monday, children will be tested on the spellings they have been given on the half term overview.
Homework
Homework will be sent home every Friday to be returned by the following Wednesday. Children will receive a weekly maths and topic/ English task to complete. Every 2 weeks the children need to choose a project from the grid to complete and hand in.
PE
Children in Year 6 have PE every Tuesday and must bring in their full PE kit to school. This consists of black bottoms (shorts, tracksuit or leggings) and trainers or plimsoles.
Book bags
Please ensure your child brings in their book bags every day.
Supporting Your Child
Please support your child by ensuring regular attendance at school and they are at school by 8.45am, ready to learn
Please ensure your child has breakfast before coming to school as it can affect their focus and concentration. We have a nutritious and healthy offer at our breakfast club, if you want further information, please speak to a member of the office staff.
As well as encouraging and supporting children with homework, activities such as reading together, and practicing times tables (including Times Table Rock Stars) would be very beneficial.
